Youth Award Winner 2017 - FRUMIOUS

Back in 2014, Hobart based folk gypsy jazz group Frumious were known as Bea & the Boys and won our Youth Blackboard competition. They were invited to compete at the National Folk Festival Youth Awards in 2015 and were subsequently invited to perform as part of the official lineup of the 2016 National Folk Festival to great feedback from audiences and critics. The band wowed the crowds at Cygnet Folk Festival 2016 by bringing together a vast array of influences in their original and requisitioned music, combining various incarnations of violin, vocals, accordion, guitar, baritone uke and accoustic bass to create an exciting and unique sound. Frumious have released their EP Five Impossible Things - click to listen to their Snake Charmer track and get in touch via their Facebook page to listen to other tracks or purchase. We look forward to keeping an eye on their success in 2017 & beyond.
